SHORT STORY ABOUT “INSPIRING STORIES OF DESPERATION AND PERSPIRATION”:

Normally I don’t talk about my past, especially about my childhood because there is nothing good to remember or to talk about. I never went to therapy to solve my issues, but a couple of years ago when I was brave enough to tell the doctor about how I was feeling, I was recommended to have therapy sessions to deal with it. Well, they are very expensive, so I still didn’t go to therapy and decided to start writing things down instead, as writing is just like talking, so it really helps to release stuff from our head and pain from our chest when we write down.

My inspiration to write down was also that some of these stories can actually be very helpful and inspiring to lots of people.

One of my biggest motivations in life that helped me to build strength to continue living, has been to become a great role model and to be able to inspire and help people.

I remember once watching this film director in an interview saying that “we are all suffering in silence”. It is so true. Normally we have no idea what our friends are going through, then when we start talking we find out that we have more than we imagined in common, even when we think we are completely different, or that because we come from different backgrounds we will be affected by things in different ways. But we are all human full of feelings inside and we feel things just the same independent of where we come from. Mainly, what we all want the most is to be loved and accepted, unconditionally loved, it’s our utmost need, it’s what we all strive for and it’s what drives us all to do what we do, whatever it is that we do.

Then from the actor’s perspective, most actors love to work with drama, the more drama the best so we can express and release all our feelings. I trust that all performers out there will really enjoy this. And fear not, there are some fun pieces in it too for the comedians out there who like to laugh and to make people laugh!

Also, one of the things I learned when I studied acting in New York, where we have all sorts of classes on the program to cover all areas, including monologue classes, I learned that it’s best when we choose a monologue for an audition, to choose from a play or from a specific book of monologues instead of choosing a monologue from a famous Hollywood Movie, after all, we don’t want the casting directors comparing our scenes with Matt Damon or Hillary Swank!

Enjoy!
